Wet for Christmas: A Rockstar Romance Read online

When we were finished, I pulled out of Aubrey and dropped to her side for a moment. I gave myself a moment to rest before I went to the bathroom as she watched me. I wet a washcloth with warm water and returned to her bed to clean her off gently, watching as I cleaned her dripping pussy. I dropped it to the floor when I was done and moved to kiss her lips.
We fell asleep together, and I woke up to my phone chiming on the floor. I reached down to grab it, seeing that my brother was sending me a text.
Fuck. We were leaving today.
I glanced at Aubrey sleeping peacefully and smiled as I shot off a return message to Jacob. I told him that I’d be home soon, and we’d go to our parent’s house. I dropped the phone to my jeans and pressed my body against Aubrey as she stirred. “Morning.” She murmured as I kissed her jaw.
“Morning.” I murmured as I found her soft lips with mine, kissing her softly. “Jacob is hounding me to hit the road.”
“He wants to see your family,” she told me before I kissed her again. We moved together again, and I made her come around my cock as she cried out my name. I kissed her lips as I followed, needing to memorize her for this weekend.
I managed to leave forty-five minutes later, rushing home to pack a few things. I couldn’t get her taste out of my mind as Jacob locked up, and we walked to the car. The drive was only a couple of hours, but he was eager to see the family and so was I. My head was just spinning from everything that was happening in my life.
We walked into the house and Mom attacked Jacob first with a tight hug, moving to me when she was done. “David. It’s so good to see you. How are you feeling after the tour?”
“Good, Mom. I’ve been relaxing for some time while I write.” I held her tight, knowing how much she silently worried about me traveling so much even as she supported me.
“I’m glad to hear that. So glad to have you home.” She pulled away, and I kissed her cheek as Dad walked forward to give us warm hugs. They led us into the kitchen, offering us something to drink as I looked around my childhood home. We set our bags down on one end of the couch and accepted beers as they asked both of us questions about what we’d been up to.
Mom assured us that Emma and Mel would be home for dinner. They had a lot of after-school activities and spent hours at the school every day. Mom pretended to complain, but she beamed with joy as she spoke of my sisters. “You should pick them up, David. They’d love to see you and their friends would be so impressed.”
Jacob rolled his eyes and punched me in the arm. “Yeah. You might have a chance with them, big brother!”
“I should bring you along so maybe you can get a little attention.” I shot back as Dad chuckled. We were an open family to a point, and they both knew that we enjoyed the perks of our jobs. I didn’t feel the need to go into detail about anything, but I thought that Mom knew more than she let on sometimes.
I did pick them up and ended up bringing some stuff to sign for the kids at the play rehearsal once everyone flooded out of the theater. That took a while, and we picked up the pizza for dinner on the way home as I caught up with my bubbly, blonde sisters. We gathered around our table and ate, laughing together in a way that I missed when I was away. I loved my band like brothers, but nothing was like the people sitting around me right now. We cleaned up, and the twins went to get ready for bed while I grabbed another beer, taking it out to the back patio that was extended over the trees. I sat down in one of the comfortable chaises and looked at the horizon that was vibrant with the setting sun. I took in the gold, pinks, and purple swirls in the sky as I took a long drink and leaned back.
“Are you okay?” Mom asked from behind me as I blinked. I was more lost in thought than I realized, and I glanced at her. She was holding a cup of tea and sat down beside me.
“I’m great, Mom. I’ve missed this place.” I admitted as she smiled.
“Come back anytime you want to.” She urged me as I nodded. “Kristin dropped by last week to see when you’d be back here to visit.”
I gazed at her as she smiled softly. I dated Kristin in high school and she was actually the first girl I slept with. “I’ll give her a call. How is she doing?”
“She’s great. She went to school in Seattle and she’s managing a big ad company now. She seems to want to see you.” I frowned, wondering what was up. “Have you been seeing anyone new, David?”
I raised a brow at her. She always asked us this and I almost always had the same answer of no. Tonight I paused, and she leaned forward. “I guess I am. Nothing serious, Mom. Just a girl I met when I came back to town at the final show.” They normally came to see the local shows with the twins but there was some sort of dance performance that night at the school. If they had been there, I might not have ended up going home with Aubrey.
I didn’t want to think about that.
“What is she like?” Mom asked as I grinned. I pictured Aubrey in my head and missed her. What the fuck?
“She’s reserved when you first meet her. Kind of the girl next door but in the best way possible.” I replied as her smile warmed her face up. “Pretty, too.”
“Will I get to meet her?” Mom asked as I let the image of them greeting each other drift out of my head. I was certain it wouldn’t get to that point.
“How often does that happen, Mom?” I asked as she rolled her eyes dramatically. She met the greedy ex and didn’t like her from the start. She told me that she had a bad feeling about that relationship and she was right.
“I suppose you have a good point there.” We chatted about our plans to get some lunch the following day as a family before she yawned and excused herself for the night. I walked upstairs to my old room, glancing across the hall at Jacob sitting on his bed with his phone in hand. I walked into my door with my bag and set it on the bed before I stretched.
I wondered what Aubrey was doing and considered sending her a text as I threw the clothes I brought into drawers. I should give her a break while I was here since we seemed to spend so much time together.
Chapter Ten
Aubrey
Cammie managed to convince me to go out on Saturday. We dressed for dinner and a club as I thought back to the night that I met David. I knew that there would probably never be another night like that, but I couldn’t help but look back at it.
I chose a black dress with cute cap sleeves and a ruffled hem that went down to the middle of my thigh at my sister’s insistence. She wore a pretty red dress and matching lipstick that made her look gorgeous. We slipped our feet into shoes that served as comfortable dancing ones while looking good and headed to my front door.
We went to the same place for dinner for sangria since I loved it so much. I enjoyed the leisurely meal and laughed at her stories about work as I sipped the sweet drink slowly. All the while, I was wondering what David was doing. He hadn’t called or sent any texts since leaving town and while I wasn’t expecting him to check in, something small would have been nice. Of course, there was radio silence on my end as well, thinking that this could be the part where he forgets all about me. Maybe we had just run our course.
We finished dinner and drove to the spacious new club that boasted live music and several drink specials. Cammie led the way inside and to the bar where she ordered her one drink for the night. I told her that I’d drive but she insisted, wanting me to let loose a bit. I sipped my sweet drink and looked around, seeing beautiful people of both sexes mingling and dancing. My sister and I were dressed much like the rest of them and blended in, making me feel more comfortable. When the band took the small stage, we moved forward to stand in the middle of the group to watch. They had an edgy sound with an energetic female vocalist beside the guy that was the lead singer. Their voices were gorgeous together, but I didn’t feel the way that I did when I watched David.
Cammie moved to the beat of the songs, seemingly carefree as I watched her with a bit of envy. She was seeing Brent and didn’t seem to be obsessing about it at all. He was even in town and s
he was here with me. I was a mopey mess without David, but I was trying to hide it. Cammie wrapped her arms around my waist as she danced, and I couldn’t help but giggle. “Isn’t this fun?”
“It is.” I had to admit that it was. We danced together, and I let everything go, if only for a moment. When the band was finished, I watched as Cammie’s face lit up and she walked towards the bar. I glanced over to see Brent smiling in our direction and my face fell. I watched as they hugged and made my way over slowly, smiling as he pulled her against him. “Hey, Brent.”
“Hi, Aubrey. How are you?” He asked as his face broke into an easy smile.
“I’m great.” I replied before ordering another drink. The two of them spoke closely together, and I made my way to the bathroom, feeling like a glaring third wheel. I did my business and walked out of the door only to bump into a guy. I glanced up to see bright blue eyes and blushed as I attempted to back away from his strong hands.
“Are you okay?” His voice was low, and I nodded as he kept his grasp on my arms.
“Fine. it was just a small collision.” I replied as I cursed the fact that a month ago this guy would actually do something for me.
“Can I buy you a drink?” He asked as I frowned gently.
“Sure.” There was no reason not to, and he turned to lead me to the bar. We edged our way in and found two seats as he ordered a beer and a drink for me. Tom was attractive with bright eyes and dark hair and we talked about his job as a graphic artist. He was nice enough but didn’t hold my attention and I sipped my drink as I glanced across the bar at Brent and Cammie. She was leaning close to him and he glanced over at me with curiosity in his gaze for a moment.
I was on my second drink with Tom and starting to feel it. I wasn’t sure how I was getting home but even if Cammie couldn’t drive me, I could get a car a few different ways. Tom leaned in closer to me and I looked into his eyes with sudden fear. “Can I take you home?” He asked as I licked my lips gently.
“I was just going to get an Uber or something. It looks like my friend has plans.” I looked at Cammie to see her making out with Brent and sighed.
“I don’t mind. I was thinking that we could get something to eat.” I eyed the beer that was in front of him and wondered how many he’d had. Tom was a gorgeous, successful guy and any girl would be happy to spend the night with him. The fact that he was with me right now should tell me something and I pressed my lips together. I didn’t have anything more than sex with David, nothing that was out there in the open. He was four times the man that Tom was and would surely get bored with me.
I told Cammie that I was going to get a bite to eat with Tom. It had to mean something that he was interested in me to begin with. She looked across the bar at him before raising her brow at me. “Are you sure about this?”
“You’re with Brent now. I’ll be fine.” He was nowhere to be seen now, but they’d been locking lips all night. “It’s not going to be forever with David. I need to accept that and try to get back into the game.”
“Okay. Text me when you’re home.” I hugged Cammie and walked over to Tom as he watched me intently. We left the bar, and he walked me to a shiny new sports car, opening the door for me and watching as I slipped inside. I was a bit surprised that he took me to an expensive restaurant that had late hours, missing the simplicity of meals with David.
I missed David.
We ordered appetizers and another drink as he settled back into his comfortable seat. “So, you are a freelance writer?”
“Jack of all trades,” I joked with a smile.
“I never considered something so independent for myself. Do you enjoy it?” Tom asked as I sensed a tone of disapproval in his voice.
“It’s great to have the freedom and since I am a night owl, that works out for me. I can work as much or as little as I want, and it feel like I have the control. I’m also doing something that I love to do.” I grinned, and he nodded slowly. I missed the passion that David had for his music and shifted uncomfortably in my seat.
“I see. I suppose hours are hours, no matter where they are spent.” He said as I nodded slowly. “I am a bit of a workaholic myself.”
We kept talking and while he was interesting enough, I was looking forward to going home. He paid the overpriced check, and we stood as Tom slipped his wallet into his pants. He stepped closer to me and I froze as he cupped my cheek with one hand. “Come home with me.”
I opened my mouth to speak and Tom kissed me. I gasped as he pulled me against him and pressed his mouth harder against mine. It didn’t feel right at all and I pressed back, attempting to free myself. Tom held me by the hair and kissed me harder as I grunted in protest. I finally lifted my hands and pushed at him, separating us. “Stop this,” I told him breathlessly as he gazed down at me.
“You’ve been into this entire night. What happened?” Tom asked as I frowned. I had no idea what he remembered, and I stepped back.
“I need to go home.” I said as I turned away from him and tried to breathe.
“I’ll take you.” He insisted as I raised my hand slowly.
“No. I’ll get a car.” I replied, feeling the ache of missing David as I reached inside of my purse for my phone. “Thanks for everything tonight, Tom. I am just not into this.”
“You shouldn’t lead people on, Aubrey. That innocent look you have going makes it easy for you, doesn’t it?” Tom asked as my mouth dropped open in shock.
“I didn’t even kiss you. You just moved in for the kill.” I accused him as I pressed my eyes closed. “Screw this.” I walked to the front of the restaurant and ordered my car near the hostess as she glanced back at Tom. I leaned against the wall after I was finished, looking out to the street to see that it was practically empty.
Tom walked past me silently, letting the door close hard as I closed my eyes. Tonight was such a mistake, and I longed to call David and confess what I did. I wanted to call Cammie and fall apart in front of her, but she was with Brent.
A waiter walked me out to the blue sedan as it pulled up at my request and I thanked him before sliding into the back seat. I smiled at the young woman and she pulled out into the empty street to take me home.
I walked up to my door and unlocked it, pushing it open before I secured it behind me. The place felt empty and not because Kyle was gone. I was missing David. I walked into my room and changed into an oversized t-shirt after washing the makeup from my face. I sat on my bed and stared at my phone blankly as I wondered what the hell happened tonight.
Meeting a guy at the bar was normal for a woman and it happened every day. That was close to how I met David, but Tom was nothing like him. The hours spent with him meant nothing compared to the time with David. I could reason with myself that it was because he was a Rockstar and sexy as fuck, but there was more to it than that for me. There had been from the start.
I plugged in my phone and curled up under my blanket. I hadn’t heard from David in a few days and that should tell me where I stood with him. I fell into a restless sleep and woke up in the morning to my phone vibrating, reaching for it without thought.
I was sad when I saw that it was Cammie, but then remembered that I never told her I got home last night. I answered it with an instant apology and she chided me for a moment before asking me what happened. She offered her sympathy that Tom wasn’t what I thought he might be, but I knew that she never thought he was that great to begin with.
“Is Brent with you?” I asked once we discussed my pathetic life.
“He’s sleeping right now. I couldn’t sleep worrying about you and decided to call. Are you okay, Aubrey?” She asked as I sighed.
“I suppose I am not ready to meet men at bars. It just doesn’t seem to work out well.” I replied, accepting that dating wasn’t my thing.
“David is great. What do you mean?” She asked as I closed my eyes.
“I haven’t heard a thing from him since he left, Cam.” There was a long silence at the other end as I waited
for her to make an excuse for him.
“He’s with his family. They’re probably busy that’s all.” She offered, and I dropped back against my pillow.
“Would Brent call if he was with his family?” I asked after a moment and she seemed to consider this.
“I think so.” She replied, and I wiped at the tears on my cheeks.
“Go back to him. I’m going to get some more sleep.” I told her as Cammie asked if I was sure. We ended the call with plans for lunch the following week and I pulled my blankets around me. I hadn’t allowed myself to Google David since meeting him because I wanted what we had to be based on reality. I knew there were pictures and rumors out there that would sting.
I gazed at my laptop on the table beside the bed and reached for it, turning it on. Once I was connected to the internet, I skimmed the most recent gossip about David. I saw a picture and clicked on it, reading that it was taken at a restaurant near his family’s house. They identified the pretty redhead as someone that he possibly used to date and based on her expression as she gazed at him across from their table, there was a connection there. I couldn’t see his face, but I knew it was David and dropped back to my pillows as tears slid down my cheeks.
I needed to move past Kyle and now David. The pain was intense as I cried, turning to my stomach and letting it all out. I was getting back to reality as soon as this bout of tears was over and not thinking about any men.
I was done for a while.
Chapter Eleven
David
I sipped my beer, looking through the window of the building to the water just beyond it. Meeting Kristin for dinner was a bad idea, and I sighed as she kept talking. “I just thought that maybe we could go out more since you’re back in town.”
“Why?” I asked as I looked at her. Her light green eyes looked sad, and she reached for her wine.
“I’ve just been hearing the music and seeing your face everywhere, David. We were good together once.” She kept on and I fought the urge to roll my eyes.
